Veteran saxophonist, Composer, Author & Educator Jim Snidero

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Jazz Jazz alto saxophonist, composer, arranger, author and educator Jim Snidero ..  He grew up in Camp Springs, Maryland, just outside of Washington, DC  and is promoting his newest 2018 CD with Jeremy Pelt called JUBILATION! CELEBRATING CANNONBALL ADDERLEY – So, As a teenager, he studied with the great Phil Woods and attendedworld-renowned jazz program at the University of North Texas – He got to NYC in 1981 at age 23 and first appeared on the jazz radar when he joined Brother Jack McDuff’s band, recording 3 albums with a jazz giant – that led to stints in the Mingus Big Band, saxophone icon Frank Wess, the Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra, Eddie Palmieri, and Frank Sinatra (Duets II, Capitol) – he’s got great tales to tell  ..

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with UK Jazz Singer Mark Kingswood ..  He’s originally from the United Kingdom and has been at it for over a decade. He spoke with me from his new home in Montreal about his debut album – 2018’s CD Strong .. The new album pays homage to the pioneers of the big band genre, including Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett -  bringing the orchestral power ballad to a whole new generation of music fans. Kansas City Drummer, Multi-Instrumentalist, Producer & Educator Brandon Draper

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Kansas City Jazz Drummer, Performer, Producer and Educator Brandon Draper .. He’s a restless sort of cat who a friend just aptly called him a chameleon .. He grew up in Lindsborg, Kansas and went to Bethany College there .. Then moved on to University of New Mexico – Over the years, he’s been a a lot of different outfits other than jazz .. Like with the Turkish-Jazz group Alaturka and toured the U.S. with the live-tronica pioneers Particle – He also play guitars with his father who is a a renowned Hammond B3 organist - in The Draper Family Band and he runs the acclaimed children's interactive music program Drum Safari with his wife of 14 years Teryn. These days he is on the music faculty at the University of Kansas and always has a plan moving in forward motion ..
