Queer Teacher, Author & Speaker Karen Coccioli

Welcome to a new edition of the Famous Interviews with Joe Dimino series .. On this episode, we talk with Queer Teacher, Author & Speaker Karen Coccioli .. When she was old enough to climb the stairs into the attic of the colonial house she grew up in, she’d sit in front of the fanlight window and compose poems about the mysteries of the night—the moon, stars, and unseen planets. She still loves all things mystical, magical, and provocative. Her love of language, coupled with her identity as an androgenous gay woman manifested an aspiration to delve into academic studies that married her innate passions. The first line of her book, Paradise, begins with "I came into life stuttering." The last line of Paradise is: "I'd never be silenced again.” We get into all the stories in between. Enjoy this interview.
