Jazz Bass, Composer & Educator Jeff Denson

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Jazz Bassist, Composer and Educator Jeff Denson  .. He spent his childhood in Arlington, Virginia and dug his mother’s love of the Beatles and  discovered R&B, especially Stevie Wonder, James Brown & the J.B.’s and Marvin Gaye– He went on to the Berkl
ee College of Music - Florida State University and beyond to get his jazz education .. but, his was a chance encounter with Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue that got his jazz world vaulted into orbit .. These days he is promoting 2016’s CD Concentric Circles and to date has recorded 11 albums as leader & co-leader and over a dozen more as a featured sideman with the likes of Lee Konitz  -
