Legendary Jazz Trumpeter and Flugelhornist Eddie Henderson

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Legendary Jazz Trumpeter and Flugelhornist Eddie Henderson .. He opened up with Jazz about his latest 2018 CD Be Cool .. it’s #2 on the charts and pays respects to his roots in jazz .. and they run deep from parents that were very musical .. So, at 9 he was given an informal lesson by Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis was a family friend that stayed at his house .. and he was heavily influence by him as he studied the instrument as a teenager in San Francisco - He came to prominence in the early 1970s as a member of pianist Herbie Hancock's band – and over the years worked with Pharoah Sanders and Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers - He earned his medical degree and worked a parallel career as a psychiatrist and musician – Eddie is a gracious and fascinating man ..
