Jazz Trumpeter James Suggs

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Jazz Trumpeter James Suggs .. He opened up about his stellar 2019 CD You’re Gonna Hear from Me .. Originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he started playing the trumpet at 9. At fifteen, he started playing professionally with jazz groups in the Northeast Ohio area and at 16 he was selected to tour with THE CONTINENTAL SINGERS which gave him the opportunity to play for audiences in Switzerland, Holland, Germany and throughout the United States. Throughout his career, he has had the t honor of playing with and learning from such musical legends like Kenny Burrell, Maria Schneider, Kenny Werner, Bob Mintzer, Billy Hart, Frank Foster, and Bob Brookmeyer  ..
