Veteran Kansas City-based Jazz Saxophonist David Valdez

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Veteran Kansas City-based Jazz Saxophonist David Valdez .. He opened up about his latest CD Shades of Happines and relocating to KC .. He was born in San Francisco in 1967 and grew up in Santa Cruz, California. He  picked up the saxophone at the age of 8 years old and never looked back .. Over the years, he has zig zagged around the United States .. he attended Berklee College - finishing his studies, he moved back to the West .. then went to New York City and then to Portland, Oregon's thriving Jazz scene and he relocated to Kansas City to pursue a Masters degree in Jazz composition at the University of Kansas – he loves it here and explains why .. along with much more . so get to know her and dig this interview my friends ..
