Jazz Saxophonist & Composer Matt Parker

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with NYC Saxophonist Matt Parker  .. He’s releasing an impressive new 2016 album called Present Time with his Trio and that will be keeping him busy .. Over the course of our interview, he discussed a very pivotal trip to New Orleans he made at 17  and got to meet and play with Al Hirt .. That was a start for his career in jazz .. at 19 he would move on to New York City to study and play with cats like Junior Mance, Jane Ira Bloom, Reggie Workman, and Charlie Persip .. He’s gone on to play in South Africa and spots all over giving the world his blend of jazz goods ..
