Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Kansas City Trumpeter, Dancer, Entertainer & Owner of Lonnie’s Reno Club Lonnie McFadden .. We talked to him on November 9, 2020 on the heels of great change in the world and in the afterglow of his opening his new Lonnie’s Reno Club .. The club pays homage to the famous Reno Club that was located at 12th and Cherry in Kansas City .. this is a bonofide Kansas City style jazz club inside the Ambassador Hotel Kansas City where the momentum was gaining serious speed as Count Basie played on radio broadcasts introducing Kansas City jazz to the world. He blends historic with hip to create authentic .. He gives us a great historical look into his club ushering in the jazz revival in these pandemic times .. Enjoy ..
