Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Jazz Singer Alexis Cole .. Born in NY, she grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and has returned to New York to live the jazz dream .. Since she was a child, she has been performing .. She just released a new 2016 CD - A Tribute to Paul Simon called Dazzling Blue – and it’s loved by critics and fans .. She is well educated and very talented .. performing with the likes of Fred Hersch, Eric Alexander, Matt Wilson, Harry Pickens and Pat LaBarbara .. Along with performing and recording, she is the head the Jazz Voice Program at SUNY Purchase and she has plenty of thoughts on the world of jazz and her career path ..
