Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with NYC-Based Jazz Journeyman Pianist Kevin Hays .. Over the course of our interview, he discussed how he grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut and went into the real world to learn how to play jazz with cats like Nicholas Payton and Joshua Redman .. He has been quite prolific over his career releasing 15 albums as a leader and 60 plus as a sideman .. That includes his newest album – 2015’s New Day ..
