Trumpeter, Cornetist & Composer Kirk Knuffke

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with NYC-Based Cornetist and Composer Kirk Knuffke .. Over the course of our interview, we talked about how he grew up in Colorado and got some great learning about the jazz craft from Denver friend and jazz great Ron Miles .. Since 2005, he has been in New York City and has been making a name for himself .. He was a 2015 rising artist in Downbeat, has a critically acclaimed album Arms and Hands circa 2015 and has gigged with some of the best in the business .. like Roswell Rudd, Myra Melford, Tootie Heath, and Billy Hart...  He’s a very cool and talented jazz musician with a story you should hear ..
