She was raised in Long Island and performs in New York City these days .. she is New York through and through .. Over the course of a spirited conversation, she described how her family was very musical .. her grandfather was a Hungarian pianist, her father was a trumpeter and jazz lover .. and she started her journey in music on the trumpet .. inspired by gigs she would see in the city as a girl with Clark Terry ..
