NYC Saxophonist & Composer Roxy Coss

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with NYC-Based Jazz Saxophonist and Composer Roxy Coss  .. Born in Seattle, she now calls New York City her home .. She is gearing up to release her second full album in 2016 called Restless Idealism and she had plenty of insight into a career that has treated her well .. She went to William Paterson University and studied saxophone with Rich Perry and Gary Smulyan – two contrasting styles .. she described in full detail .. and has performed with jazz giants like Clark Terry, Louis Hayes & Jeremy Pelt  .. Along with the performing, she is a composer – she collaborated with her mother, Seattle artist Mary Coss, to create the 7-minute soundtrack entitled Eternal for an exhibit .. She stays very busy and we had a lot to talk about ..

Veteran Jazz Pianist Bob Ringwald

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with jazz journeyman pianist Bob Ringwald .. . There have been rumors of his virgin birth, being abandoned by wolves and being raised by parents, living in a log cabin, chopping down a cherry tree, throwing a half dollar across the Potomac River and walking 10 miles to and from school (uphill both ways) in the snow – but after our interview, I found that all of these claims are grossly exaggerated .. Instead, he is a man that has dedicated his life to playing jazz since the age of 8 on the keys, he spent 16 years as a jazz radio host in LA and is a pro in the Ham Radio world .. He discussed what has been going on lately, performing occasionally with his daughter – Actress/Author and Jazz Singer Molly Ringwald .. and revealed much more ..

Jazz Musician, Bandleader & Historian Vince Giordano

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Jazz musician, arranger and leader of the New York-based Nighthawks Orchestra – Vince Giordano ..  Along with the music, he is a
big-band historian and collector with more than 60,000 scores in his collection .. He’s a champion of the 20’s and 30’s bringing a whole new trove of audiences into his music that celebrates those decades of jazz glory .. He performs with his band called the Nighthawks Orchestra who have been featured in a huge catalog of TV and film projects .. Like HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and Woody Allen films .. Vince is a passionate cat that has done very well dedicating his life to the world of jazz music from the mecca of New York City .. Get to know him a bit more ..
