Chicago-based Guitarist Kyle Asche

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Chicago-based Guitarist Kyle Asche .. He opened up about his new highly anticipated third CD as a leader 2021’s CD Five Down Blues .. Originally from Columbus, Nebraska, he was fortunate to hear recordings by such legends as Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, Pat Martino, and George Benson at a young age. While in his mid-teens he was part of a master class conducted by Russell Malone that initially inspired him to become a professional guitarist. Over the years, he has performed with Wynton Marsalis and Jazz at Lincoln Center, Melvin Rhyne, “Killer” Ray Appelton, Chris Foreman, Victor Goines, and Ben Paterson. After 20 years into his tenure in Chicago, he has a lot more to do .. Dig the story ..

He was born in Memphis and raised in Knoxville, TN and began playing piano and bass at an early age. His father Donald Brown is a world-renowned jazz pianist/composer having performed with many greats and he first learned to play songs of R&B artists like Stevie Wonder by ear and then started classical piano lessons at 8yrs old. Polish Composer, Arranger and Producer Milosz Konarski on Charlie Parker Plays Bossa Nova Album

The whole project is an attempt to answer Haruki Murakami’s questions how would Charlie Parker have sounderd hade he not died in 1955, but after several years of recovery, he returned to playing the saxophone and in 1963 when bossa nova was popular & released a bossa nova album .. Jazz Double Bassist David Arend of Alchemy Sound Project

Sessions for Afrika Love took place in January 2018 and the album’s title was borrowed from the composition that reflects the band’s keen awareness that this recording arrives in the wake of one of the most tumultuous years in recent U.S. history — a pivotal period in which race relations and social justice protests have taken center stage. David is a freelance artist who moves easily across classical, jazz, electronic, avant garde and singer/songwriter contexts and the band was formed in 2014 two years after the group’s members met in Los Angeles at the Jazz Composers Orchestra Institute .. Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Veteran Jazz Guitarist John Stein on the 2021 CD Serendipity .. He’s based in Boston and has Kansas city roots.. On this album he was trying to find a way to reach his audience following the Covid-19 breakout. Prior to the pandemic, Whaling City Sound’s Neal Weiss had asked Stein to bring a trio for an outdoor September show he had booked in New Bedford. But when hell broke loose, Neal moved the show inside, to the New Bedford Art Museum, and made plans to broadcast it virtually, as well as record the audio and video. This album is the result .. Israeli Jazz Pianist Ari Erev

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Israeli Jazz Pianist Ari Erev .. We caught up with him in Mid-June to talk about his 4th solo album .. the ew 2021 CD Coose to Home done with a stellar cast of musicians exploring the many spaces and places that a 21st Century musician calls home. Over the years, he has performed regularly in Israel and in Europe in Piano Solo or Trio settings. His music blends a deep classical touch, producing an intimate, delicate and emotional style which is inspired by pianists such as Bill Evans, Kenny Barron and Fred Hersch ..
