Jazz Vocalist & Poet Lisa Berstein

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Jazz Vocalist and Poet Lisa B..  She is promoting her latest 2018 record – her 6th .. Called  I Get A Kick: Cole Porter Reimagined – So, her mother wrote poetry and her father was a serious fan - of the avant-garde jazz .. Many legendary musicians like Elvin Jones were family friends .. Early on she studied classical piano and was steeped in jazz – Over the years, she has performed at more than 80 venues in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Los Angeles, and elsewhere .. She has done so much and feels like she is just getting started ..

Israeli-born Jazz Saxophonist Arnan Raz

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series Israeli-Born, New York City-based Jazz Saxophonist Arnan Raz .. He reached out to Neon Jazz recently and we are very glad he did .. His latest album called Chains of Stories is another great modern day jazz album and his vignette of stories is the same way .. Born & raised in a small communal village outside of Israel called Kibbutz, he had family members in the arts and music .. and that gave him a backbone to want the sax at age 13 .. From there, he made his way to America and is now in the jazz scene and looking towards the future ..

Danish Jazz Singer Sinne Eeg

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series Jazz Singer Sinne (see-neh-ee) Eeg (ehg) .. She keeps on releasing albums to increase that large fanbase of hers .. The latest is 2017’s Dreams ..  So, she was born into a musical family in the Danish countryside and started playing music at the young age of four. By 16 she went to the highly competitive Danish Music Conservatory – Over the years, her career has gone very well .. She has received numerous awards and keeps on making that music ..

KC Jazz Singer Deborah Brown on the Jazz Life & Legacy of Kevin Mahogonay (1958-2017)
