Veteran Jazz Drummer Jon Krosnick of the Band Lunar Octet

Louisville, Kentucky-based Jazz Organist Kendall Carter

Paris-based Jazz Pianist & Composer Benoît Delbecq

We caught up with him in his home in Paris to talk about his latest 2021 CD The Weight of Light .. Another gem in his line of free jazz/improvisational compositions .. Since the early nineties, his works have received acclaim from legendary musicians such as Mal Waldron, Steve Lacy, and Steve Coleman .. After taking a few years of classical piano lessons from the age of 6, at 16 he studied improvised music with free music pioneer Alan Silva who the founder of the Institute for Artistic and Cultural Perception in Paris. By the age of 19, he was already studying sound engineering and acoustics. His fascination and joy of music is one you should hear .. Enjoy his story ..

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with LA-based Jazz Saxophonist & Composer Dennis Mitcheltree .. We caught up with him to talk about his long winding road in the jazz world .. He was born and raised in Wisconsin and started on the oboe and saxophone at age 12. He received a scholarship from Berklee College of Music and would become and award-winning saxophonist and composer. He was a former student of the likes Jim McNeely, George Garzone and Joe Lovano .. He went on to play with legends in jazz like Clark Terry, George Cables, Jim McNeely, Gary Bartz, Kenny Werner and many others turning all of that into his own blend of instruction for students .. .. Veteran New York Jazz Improviser, Pianist & Composer Russ Lossing

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Veteran New York Jazz Improviser, Pianist & Composer Russ Lossing .. He’s a passionate musician that opened up about his life as a jazz musician and his new 2021 CD Metamorphism .. Originally from Ohio, he has been part of the New York jazz scene since 1986. He played with drummer Paul Motian over a period of 12 years and has composed over 400 works and is in specialized demand as a world class jazz pianist and improviser.  He has 18 CDs as leader and is featured on over 50 other CDs as sideman and collaborator with world acclaimed musicians.
