Jazz Bassist & Composer Kyle Eastwood

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Jazz Bassist & Composer Kyle Eastwood .. As usual, Kyle is releasing quality albums charting his evolution as a musician .. his latest offering is 2017’s In Transit .. So, he is the son of jazz lover Clint Eastwood and grew up listening to records by jazz legends such as Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Thelonious Monk – He went on to study film at the University of Southern California for two years before embarking on a music career – That has led to many albums on his own and being a part of scores for films like The Rookie (1990), Mystic River (2002), Million Dollar Baby (2004), Flags of Our Fathers (2006), and J. Edgar (2011).

Veteran Jazz Saxophonist Vincent Herring

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with  Veteran Jazz Saxophonist Vincent Herring .. On the heels of a new 2017 CD Hard Times .. life is good .. He grew up in Hopkinsville, Kentucky and started playing saxophone at the age of 11 in school bands – He went on to play in the Military Academy Band at West Point and would work with Cedar Walton for more than 20 years – that led to gigs with the likes of Freddie Hubbard, Dizzy Gillespie, Louis Hayes, Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers and Horace Silver Quintet over a career that has produced over 20 titles as a leader and over 250 as a sideman ..
