But when the pandemic struck just a few months later, he suddenly found himself with an abundance of free time as performance opportunities disappeared. In his first album since his two underground classics for Prestige Records in ’72 and ’73, he melds his earlier explorations into a fresh musical ..  Originally from San Francisco, he has experienced music as a way of life and being in a myriad of settings. Celebrated Jazz Drummer and Bandleader Gerry Gibbs

A Celebration of the Music of Bebop Luminary Terry Gibbs, Prominently Featuring Musical Titan Chick Corea on his Final Recording ever .. This is his thirteenth release on an impressive double-disc masterwork featuring four iterations of his acclaimed Thrasher Dream Trio .. After 10 months and 15,000 miles of car travel to assemble the recordings for this masterpiece .. He  grew up in Southern California and started playing the drums at the age of 4. By the time he was 7 years old, had already appeared on a few Television shows. His story is captivating .. Enjoy ..

Veteran Jazz Trombonist, Composer, Arranger & Educator Ed Neumeister

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Veteran Jazz Trombonist, Composer, Arranger & Educator Ed Neumeister .. We caught up with him about his new 2021 Quartet CD called What Have I Done? Ed has been at forefront of creative music across multiple genres for over forty years. He was born in Topeka Kansas and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 50’s and 60’s and playing music at the age of 5 with trumpet & switched to trombone when he was nine. After moving to New York in 1980, Ed performed for 15 years in the Duke Ellington Orchestra, and 19 years with the Mel Lewis Big Band .. Over the years, he has also performed and recorded with Jerry Garcia, Gerry Mulligan, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn. This artist is full of stories .. Enjoy ..

Veteran NYC Jazz Trumpeter & Composer Alex Norris

He has a new 2021 CD  with his Quintet called “Fleet From The Heat” and it is his debut on Steeplechase Records highlighting ten years of his working Quintet & a love letter to NYC .. Over a long and satisfying career, he has appeared on close to 90 recordings as a sideman .. He grew up in Columbia, Maryland and began studying music at the age of 9. In 1992, he moved to New York City and quickly found work with the Village Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Toshiko Akiyoshi's Jazz Orchestra, and Maria Schneider's Band. His career is full of great tales ..
