Veteran NYC Jazz Trumpeter & Composer Alex Norris

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Veteran NYC Jazz Trumpeter & Composer Alex Norris .. He has a new 2021 CD  with his Quintet called “Fleet From The Heat” and it is his debut on Steeplechase Records highlighting ten years of his working Quintet & a love letter to NYC .. Over a long and satisfying career, he has appeared on close to 90 recordings as a sideman .. He grew up in Columbia, Maryland and began studying music at the age of 9. In 1992, he moved to New York City and quickly found work with the Village Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Toshiko Akiyoshi's Jazz Orchestra, and Maria Schneider's Band. His career is full of great tales ..
