Jazz Guitarist & Composer Matthew Stevens

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Jazz Guitarist & Composer Matthew Stevens  He grew up in Toronto, Canada and loved the aura of Jimi Hendrix .. He’s on the heels of promoting his 2015 debut album Woodwork and has a lot to say about his career .. He got some good education at the Berklee College of Music and moved on to play with the NEXT Collective, Christian Scott,  Esperanza Spalding, and Harvey Mason – Along with travelling extensively giving fans his music and recording, he is a member of the adjunct faculty at the New School and loves it .. He was just chosen by DownBeat as one of the 25 rising stars in jazz ..
