We talked quite a bit about the new 2022 Project Unstuck In Time: The Kurt Vonnegut Suite .. On the occasion of the great satirist’s 100th birthday, he has created a new suite of music inspired by Vonnegut’s writings. It’s full of eleven new compositions vibrantly capturing the incisive wit and skewed vision of one of the 20th century’s most inventive and celebrated novelists. The album will be released by Sunnyside on November 11, 2022 to coincide with Vonnegut’s centennial .. Jason is originally from the Boston area with 7 albums as a leader & has performed on 25 more as a side musician .. Enjoy this interview ..

Born in San Jose, California, he grew up in the Bay Area and started playing piano in the 2nd grade. His love of jazz music began in the 7th grade when his music teacher played him a record of Oscar Peterson. He would move to New York City in 1987 and since then has been working as a freelance musician, playing jazz gigs, Broadway shows, several tours, and teaching. Over the years, he has worked with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Chuck Berry, Sarah Brightman and many others .. Dig his story ..
