Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Philadelphia Jazz Sax Legend Odean Pope  .. in his early years he learned from the likes of Ray Bryant and Kenny Clarke – and at
Philadelphia's Uptown Theater in his younger years, he played behind legends like James Brown, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder – That would lead to work with big jazz shots like Jimmy McGriff and Max Raoch .. he’s had quite a journey and he talked quite a bit about it .. Including getting picked by John Coltrane to fill in for him ..
