Jazz Saxophonist & Composer Andrew Rathbun

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Jazz Saxophonist, Composer & Bandleader Andrew Rathbun..  He grew up in Toronto, Canada and is promoting his newest 2018 CD – The Atwood Suites .. His style is rooted in the legacy of post-bop jazz full of classical composition .. He got Masters in Performance from Boston’s New England Conservatory studying with masters like George Garzone, Jimmy Giuffre and George Russell - After moving to Brooklyn in 1997 he became a fixture on the New York jazz scene and in 2012 as Professor of Saxophone and Jazz Studies at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo – he juggles a full jazz like and he’s got insights into it all ..
