Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Jazz Trombonist & Composer Michael Dessen .. He just released a new 2018 CD Somewhere in the Upstream with his trio and is happy with how things have turned out .. He studied at the Eastman School of Music - the University of Massachusetts, Amherst  and the University of California - San Diego and got plenty of sage advice from the likes of Yusef Lateef, George Lewis, and Anthony Davis - He creates music for improvisers and explores the artistic potentials of technologies including live electronics, telematics and networked scores -
