We spoke to him about his newest 2019 CD called Organisms with the Doug MacDonald Quartet featuring Doug on Guitar, Bob Sheppard on Tenor Saxophone, Carey Frank on the B3 Organ and Ben Scholz on Drums – He’s originally from Philadelphia and began his career in Hawaii playing at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel .. From there, he’s gone to Las Vegas, Los Angeles to Manhattan, Spain, Finland, Estonia, and the UK. Playing in clubs, concert halls and recording studios as a featured soloist, as well as an accompanist for some of the greatest jazz luminaries of our time.To date, MacDonald has released a prolific catalog of 13 CDs spanning different configurations as solo, duo trios quartets and big bands.
