KC-based Jazz Baritone Saxophonist B.J. Janesen

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with KC-based Jazz Baritone Saxophonist BJ Jansen .. He opened up about his new 2019 CD Tradition .. He was born in Cincinnati and there he established himself as a charismatic and dynamic performer, composer, bandleader and educator on and off the stage.
It all began at 10 when his father bought him an Alto Saxophone and gave him recordings of Gerry Mulligan and Charlie Parker. His musical journey took him from the Midwest to the East Coast when he relocated to Philadelphia in 2004. He spent three years learning on the streets of Philadelphia before relocating yet again to New York City in 2007. And now he is calling Kansas City home and getting involved in a very fruitful scene.  Get know him and dig this interview my friends ..
