Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Canadian Jazz Drummer Larry Graves .. He talked to the show about his latest 2019 CD Surefire Sweat .. This self-titled debut features eight original works by Juno-nominated and first time band-leader - The music is primarily instrumental and driven by a narrative: each piece is an emotive journey, offering real time reflections on the nature of the human condition. So, Surefire Sweat is made up of a diverse and multi-generational roster of Toronto-based artists. Inventive arrangements act as a vehicle for the all-star cast of musicians to engage listeners through improvisational explorations and danceable arrangements.
