Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Sweden-born, NYC Jazz Guitarist Tomas Janzon .. His 2019 CD 130th and Lenox is exactly where he lives in Harlem and is a homage to where he calls home and plays music .. He was born in Stockholm, Sweden and his musical quest started at the age of 7 playing the recorder. At 8 he began studying the cello and by 12 was performing with the chamber orchestra - then it would be the guitar. Once he arrived in Los Angeles - he would study with Joe Diorio at Musicians Institute/GIT and taught as an adjunct faculty member from 1995 to 2008. In 2001 he went to Canada teaching as Artist-in-Resident and since 2002 he’s been residing in New York and very busy with touring and teaching throughout the US, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Austria – He’s a fascinating cat .. So get to know him and dig this interview my friends ..
