Not all remarkable creators get the spotlight they deserve during their lifetime, and the Joan Beckow Legacy Project came into existence to produce the debut, albeit posthumous album of prolific, brilliant, and under-celebrated female, Jewish, Canadian composer who passed away at age 88 in January 2021.When this Vancouver-born musician moved to Toronto, quitting work as vintage clothing buyer for a career in music, her goals were simple – release an album of original songs, hear her music on the radio, and satisfy her wanderlust on tour around the world.
