Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview North Carolina-based Veteran Jazz Trumpeter, Composer & Arranger Rich Willey .. He opened up about his new 2022 CD Puttin' On The Ritz. His trumpet and bass trumpet playing draw upon the wellspring of bebop with a contemporary freshness. He was active on the New York scene in the 1980s to the mid 1990s, handling a wide range of Latin and jazz gigs, most notably backing up legendary vocalist Mel Tormé .. He actually spent some quality time in Philadelphia prior to NYC .. We get into all of this and much more .. Enjoy the ride ..
