Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Russian-born, Brooklyn-based Jazz Drummer Tima Volozh .. He talked about his new and debut 2023 CD Jubilee .. It’s an album that encapsulates the diverse influences that have shaped his musical journey .. The group came together in March 2022 as a response to the war in Ukraine, with Tima assembling musicians who shared his concern for the situation, leading to a benefit concert at Scholes Street Studio and the birth of the band. After years of living in London, UK, he relocated to New York and completed a Master’s degree in jazz performance at New York University under Steinhardt Music Talent Scholarship .. Dig this story ..
