Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Contemporary Folk Artist Leslie Evers .. She is celebrating the release of her second album, Bound for Land, which contains a unique blend of acoustic folk, Americana, and American Songbook influences. Bound for Land consists of 11 original songs, meticulously recorded, mixed, and mastered at the illustrious 2nd Story Sound in New York City. She is a poet, dramatic writer and cinema veteran, but most of all a musician whose diverse talents include songwriting, singing, swing guitar and clawhammer banjo. Leslie Evers has been strongly influenced by American roots & old-time music, as well as the melodies and themes explored in the great American songbook. We cover quite a bit .. Enjoy.
