NYC Pianist and Composer Aruán Oritz

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Forty-two-year-old Cuban-born, Brooklyn-based pianist, violist, and composer Aruan Ortiz  .. Over the course of an open conversation,  he discussed his journey to jazz .. it began in Cuba, picked up steam during time in Spain and finally in the United States he found his dream .. Over the years, he has written music for jazz ensembles, orchestras, dance companies, chamber groups, and feature films – He just released a new 2016 album to critical acclaim called Hidden Voices .. He’s a busy cat fulla talent and armed with great tales ..
