She is always riding all the chasms and seams of music that are improvisational and conversational in nature. She has a unique approach and vision for the vocalist’s role in jazz and improvised music and oer a 20 year span, she has released 9+ albums as a leader to critical acclaim as well as seminal sideperson projects with leaders such as Anthony Braxton, Roswell Rudd, Nicole Mitchell, William Parker and Marc Ribot .. She’s traveled well down her jazz road and has a lot of tales to tell ..
