She has five children and four extra kids with her current husband. She been married, divorced, widowed and remarried. She owns a salon company and publishing company and is currently career shifting to author, teacher, speaker. She is now in Birmingham, Alabama and when she is not writing, speaking, or creating hair art, she can be found riding a Harley Davidson Sportster 1200, flaunting new healthy gluten free recipes on her cooking blog/Facebook page (The Recovering Southerner), painting, reading, watching movies with the family, and spending time outdoors.
