Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Nashville-based Jazz Drummer & Composer Sofia Goodman .. She opened up about her new 2023 CD Secrets of the Shore .. It takes listeners on an odyssey exploring the human psyche and its primordial link to the ocean .. She was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan to parents who’d met in college: a mother who is first-generation Puerto Rican American and a Nicaraguan father of Lebanese descent. She was placed with a Christian adoption agency, from which an Irish couple welcomed her into their home. She began on the keys at 4 and has never looked back .. Enjoy this tale ..
