Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Jazz Pianist Richard Pellegrin on the 2024 Album Topography .. His new album done with saxophonist Neil Welch on Slow & Steady Records features a collection of compositions and improvisations directly inspired by the landscapes of the American West – especially Whidbey Island, located just north of Seattle, WA. Reflecting “an urge many of us have recently felt to escape the office, social media, or the news, and get back to nature.” We get into the new album, live shows, future projects and so much more. We caught up initially in 2021 during the pandemic shuffle, so it’s great to get back at it in more flush times. Enjoy.
