Welcome to a new edition of Famous Interviews with Joe Dimino. In this episode, we sit down with Marilyn Getas Byrne—a writer, speaker, survivor, navigator, and former CBS/NBC TV anchor/reporter—to explore her powerful journey of resilience, tragedy, and hope.
Marilyn spent nearly 20 years as a news anchor and reporter for CBS and NBC affiliates on both the East and West Coasts. But at age 40, while raising two young children, she faced an unexpected battle with breast cancer, shifting her life’s direction.
Through writing, motivational speaking, and patient navigation, she now shares stories of overcoming adversity to inspire others to navigate their own challenges. Currently, she is finalizing a memoir about a brother and sister's intertwined journeys through crisis, resilience, and love.
From her home in California, Marilyn reflects on:
