Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Veteran Boston-based Jazz Saxophonist Greg Abate .. We talked to him about his fourth recording with the Tim Ray Trio on the Whaling City Sound label with his CD Gratitude – State Door Live @ The Z .. Greg  and friends find the true essence of jazz on this impressive testament to true improv. With no formal rehearsals, no overdubs, mulligans, and redos, the band captures its performance in truth, in full, and in the moment.
