Florida-based Jazz Bassist Brandon Robertson

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Florida-based Jazz Bassist Brandon Robertson .. He opened up about his 2019 CD B.O.A.T.S – Based on a True Story…. He is a ten year veteran of the Florida jazz scene and this debut album as a leader represents the first chapter of his musical autobiography. Its eight original songs were written over the course of the last 14-years. He is originally from Tampa, FL and his mother was a well know gospel singer who opened for Kirk Franklin, Cece Winans, Yolanda Adams, and even opened up for MC Hammer back in the early 90’s. He originally started on cello, but he was a natural on the bass .. He opened up about this and so much more .. so get to know her and dig this interview my friends ..

We reached out to him about his latest, impressive 2019 CD The Golden Rule – For Sonny .. So, through his six recordings as a bandleader, he has been performing unspoken tributes to Sonny Rollins .. Eric has said that he will never forget the impact Rollins—who often played with Wyatt’s father—had on him growing up. This Whaling City Sound recording is magical .. So, he was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and introduced to the sax by his father Charles Wyatt, who played tenor and hung out with many of the great jazz icons: Charlie Parker, Gary Bartz, George Braith, Wilber Ware, Thelonious Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, and more. Kansas City Musician & Show Organizer Greg Carroll on the Bringing Legend's To Life Concert During Charlie Parker Festivities - 8.23.19

During this edition of the Neon Jazz Interview Series, Kansas City Musician & Show Organizer Greg Carroll opens up about the August 23, 2019 performance at the Liberty Performing Arts Theatre. This event will highlight the music of KC's greatest legends from Charlie Parker, Count Basie, "Big" Joe Turner, Mary Lou Williams and so many more. It will feature the Midnight Blue Jazz Quintet, Kansas City's Vine Street Rumble Jazz Orchestra and the Liberty North & Liberty High School Jazz All Stars. NYC Jazz Pianist & Conductor Mike Holober

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with NYC-based Jazz Pianist & Conductor Mike Holober .. Mike was born in Brooklyn and raised in Long Island .. Over our interview, he discussed his 2019 CD Hiding Out .. So, after a decade spent hiding in plain sight as an arranger and composer with some of the world’s most renowned large ensembles, her returns to the helm of his own stellar big band, the Gotham Jazz Orchestra. Trained as a classical pianist and conductor, he began his apprenticeship as a jazz pianist and composer after moving to New York City in 1986. He has released six recordings as a leader and can be heard on over 70 recordings as a sideman working with esteemed ensembles like the WDR and HR Big Bands and Westchester Jazz Orchestra - so get to know him and dig this interview my friends ..

Jazz Vocalist, Educator and Minister Leonisa Ardizzone

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Jazz Musician, Vocalist, Educator and  Minister Leonisa Ardizzone.. She opened up about her latest 2019 with her Quartet called All in Good Time…This CD  hangs together like a densely emotive tone poem composed to, if not make life make sense, then at least tell a simple truth. She was introduced to her music a decade ago. Her creative process had a smart edge to it, revealing a fertile mind and expansive interest and when she was in graduate school, she was musically active, singing in the New York City club scene on such sacred ground as Sweet Rhythm, Iridium, Danny’s, the Duplex, and the Kitano. Eventually, the singer found herself a single mom with her considerable focus being on raising her daughter – and now she is back ..
