Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Nigerian-born, Los Angeles Jazz Vocalist Douyé .. We caught up with her in Mid-April 2020 to talk about the Coronvirus Lockdown wold of no live jazz and the recent CD’s she sent over to Neon Jazz .. She is a Lagos, Nigerian born jazz vocalist who now lives in Los Angeles and has released four albums .. When she was growing up, she was interested in the American music of Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, and Dinah Washington. She started writing poems, and eventually songs that she started singing at the age of five. She has a great story .. Enjoy ..
