She could only dream of living on a South Pacific island as a Nebraska farm girl. At fifty-seven, after raising three sons and a successful career, she joined the Peace Corps and was assigned to the South Pacific islands of Samoa. Her memoir of that life-changing adventure ‘My View from the House by the Sea: A Life Transformed by Samoa and the Peace Corps' is her first book. From the rainforest on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi surrounded by orchids and other tropical flowers, we get into her story.
