Big Band Leader Ian Charleton

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Big Band Leader Ian Charleton .. We talked to him about quite a bit in Mid-March .. Like his latest 2021 CD A Fresh Perspective, a long life in jazz and COVID .. He has been writing for big band since he was 15 years old and his influences range from the traditional (Count Basie, Sammy Nestico, Rob McConnell) to more contemporary tastes (Maria Schneider, Kenny Wheeler and more). His passion is the big band and his story is a great one .. Enjoy ..
