Ohio-based Composer, Trombonist & Educator Jason Branscum

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Ohio-based Composer, Trombonist & Educator Jason Branscum .. This storied musician opened up about new new album, a long life in music and hope in a COVID world .. His latest 2021 CD  Beyond The Walls Of The World comes out on May 28th and has influences ranging from avant-garde to hard-swinging contemporary jazz & rock-tinged fusion. He was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio and developed a passion for soul, rock, and hip-hop music throughout his teen years, but was tipped over the edge when he discover the jazz and funk from the bars in Dayton. Over the years, he has performed in Europe, fifteen states and Washington D.C.  He has recorded, toured, or shared the stage with the likes of Dr. John, 10,000 Maniacs, George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars, Gladys Knight, The Roots, T.S. Monk and so many more .. Enjoy his story ..
