Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Veteran Rhode Island-based Jazz Saxophonist Dan Moretti .. We caught up with him about his new 2021 CD Tres Libre, his life in music and hope beyond COVID .. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island and it was in the 5th grade that he began playing the Alto saxophone .. The influences of the 60's music revolution and especially soul music would have a profound impact on him .. At the age of 12 he was invited to perform in the Rhode Island Youth All-State Jazz Band where he played at the world renown Newport Jazz Festival . From there, things were on the up and up ..
