Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Kansas City-based Jazz Keyboardist, Composer & Producer Angela Ward .. I caught her live at the Blue Room off 18 and Vine in Mid-March and had to talk to her about her life in music .. She performs regularly around the Kansas City Metro area with her band and free lances with other groups .. Especially now as the world wakes up .. She always brings a rare blend of fusion, jazz, and classical to everything she plays. She writes and arranges for the internationally known JWB, also known as The James Ward Band. Her journey on the keys began at 3 and led her to being a graduate of Florida A&M University where she majored in Computer Information Systems and minored in Music Performance. She’s got quite a story .. Enjoy ..
