Originally from Hawai'i, Patrick is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army and an instructor at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
With 28 years of military service, Patrick has held key tactical, operational, and strategic roles, served as a legislative liaison to the U.S. Senate, an interagency fellow with the Department of Labor, and a Congressional partnership program fellow with the Partnership for a Secure America.
His upcoming book, Born from War: A Soldier’s Quest to Understand Vietnam, Iraq, and the Generational Impact of Conflict (April 2025), delves into the lasting effects of war across generations. We explore his military journey, his insights on warfare, and much more.
