Seasoned English Keyboardist & Leader of the Group Jazz Sabbath Adam Wakeman

Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series. In this episode, we talk with seasoned English keyboardist and leader of Jazz Sabbath, Adam Wakeman, about his new 2024 album The 1968 Tapes, the history of Jazz Sabbath, and his remarkable journey in music.

Jazz Sabbath was at the forefront of the UK jazz movement in the late ‘60s, recording two albums in 1969 that were thought to be lost—until now. Adam, the son of rock legend Rick Wakeman (Yes), began playing classical piano at just eight years old and has since built an extraordinary career. He has spent the last 20 years performing with Black Sabbath and continues to work alongside Ozzy Osbourne.

From rock to jazz, his musical evolution, and an unexpected hiatus, we cover it all.
