Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with married music power couple Premik Russell Tubbs & Margee Minier-Tubbs. We connected with them from their home in Connecticut to talk about their brand-new 2025 release Oneness-World, how they met, and their remarkable journeys in music.
Described as “a sonic journey into the heart of our oneness through its complex musical exploration of the unfolding cycles of time while delving into the mystery of existence and the eternal breath of life,” this album is both expansive and deeply personal.
Premik, featured on saxophones, flutes, and EWI, leads a stellar group of musicians that includes Grammy-winning violinist Zach Brock, keyboardist Neil Alexander, pianist Steve Sandberg, bassist Michael O’Brien, and drummer-percussionist Todd Isler. Margee adds evocative vocals and spoken word on four of the seven tracks, bringing depth and resonance to the project.
