Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Baton Rouge-based Jazz Saxophonist & Educator Doug Stone .. We talked about the construction of his new 2019 CD Motion .. and his current gig as an Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies at Louisiana State University .. He was born and raised in Illinois and would go on to play with his hero - jazz trumpet legend Maynard Ferguson and his band as a touring musician - His time on the road has taken him to virtually every corner of the United States as well as Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, and Canada playing with the likes of Frank Foster, Benny Golson, Frank Wess, Jimmy Heath, Rufus Reid and so many others .. we had a great talk ..
